Технология gdipp поддерживает 32-битные и 64-битные версии Windows 7 и Vista
Команда открытого проекта под названием gdipp представила одноименную технологию для рендеринга шрифтов в операционной системе Windows. Хотя в среде Windows уже есть довольно развитый механизм ClearType для качественного отображения шрифтов на экранах жидкокристаллических и ЭЛТ-мониторов, технология gdipp, возможно, будет более привлекательной для пользователей, уже опробовавших работу в операционной системе Mac OS X и в современных дистрибутивах Linux.
Альтернативный механизм рендеринга шрифтов gdipp обеспечивает более гладкое (по крайней мере, на субъективный взгляд) отображение кривых в текстовых элементах. Кроме того, в технологии gdipp обеспечивается отличное сглаживание края символов. Трудно сказать, какой именно механизм рендеринга явно выигрывает – стандартный Windows ClearType или gdipp: выбор придется делать из субъективных оценок и из соображений стабильности.
