BitTorrent - клиентская программа пиринговой сети, нацеленной на возможность загрузки файлов большого размера. В отличие от других подобных сетей (Kazaa, eDonkey и т.п.), где владельцами одного и того же файла могут быть сразу несколько человек, у которых этот файл находится, BitTorrent предусматривает наличие у файла единственного владельца, который и заинтересован в его распространении. Таким заинтересованным лицом может быть, например, разработчик программного обеспечения.
Кроме этого, особенностью этой сети является очень высокая скорость скачки файла, что достигается за счет оригинального способа выдачи файла сразу с нескольких компьютеров даже в том случае, когда целиком файла на них еще нет. Опуская подробности, можно сказать так: чем больше народу качают через BitTorrent какой-то файл, тем быстрее он будет скачиваться.-Особенности BitTorrent:
